Freddy Krueger x Flick Picasso x Venom III

Founder of Venom III asked me to work with their new Shirt Design for their Halloween Special. They gave me the Art Direction but given the chance to do my own stuff if ever i wanted to which is pretty cool for me.

They wanted me to do a Freddy Krueger design which is a pretty cool character. Freddy in the dream world, he is a powerful force and almost completely invulnerable to damage but in the real world he has normal human vulnerabilities.

At first i did a rough sketch on my computer then do a detailed sketch on paper. I search a lot of Freddy Krueger's face and watched all the movies related to him. That's how dedicated I am on doing this piece. A lot of trial and error. Lots of revisions. Lots of frustrations and hard as fuck. I really put a lot of work on this. A lot of time and passion. I wasted tons of tracing paper, bond paper, pencils and erasers just to get the satisfaction i wanted. I want to make this piece as realistic as I can. I really want this bad to be sick ass. In the end, the outcome came out great.

I did a 3 version mock ups on how this design can be printed which really came out great. I'm a big lover of large prints or all-over print.

A Collaboration For A Cause - Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda

Super Typhoon Haiyan -- one of the strongest storms recorded on the planet -- smashed into our Country,Philippines on Friday morning.



The storm brought tremendously powerful winds roaring ashore as it made landfall in the province of Eastern Visayas.

With sustained winds of 315 kph (195 mph) and gusts as strong as 380 kph (235 mph), Haiyan was probably the strongest tropical cyclone to hit land anywhere in the world in recorded history. It will take further analysis after the storm passes to establish whether it is a record.

Our Country faced a long, grim path to recovery in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan.

No electricity. No food. No water. Houses and buildings leveled. Bodies scattered on the streets. Hospitals overrun with patients. Medical supplies running out.

Because of the this calamity we are facing, I have the chance to do a collaborative cause with one of my friends from Cebu City, Philippines.

When Jess Boquiren of Venom III asked me to do a shirt design for a cause, I didnt think twice on doing it. In fact, im more excited to do this.

 Im not a rich kid neither have a lot of stuffs to give. I have a high debts to pay but with this, I know I can help with the talent and skills given to me by our Lord.

When Jess give me the details to work with. She only wants a text design with the quote of "We the Strong. We the Survivor. One Filipino". I just thought that it is too simple. Since this is a "Shirt for a Cause", it sink out in my mind that this piece needs some artwork in it so that it will sell out fast. Since the survivors needs some encouragement and heart to push, I decided to add a heart with wings. The Heart symbolizes Love. The Wings symbolizes Uplifting. The Halo symbolizes Guidance from Above. I combine all of the elements with one design and it came out great.

The shirt cost only P250 [ $5 ] in order to make it affordable. All the proceeds will be converted to goods like noodles, water, food, rice and anything that can help the victims. With this Collaborative For A Cause it really feels good. You buy a shirt, you just help the victims. Isnt it nice ?
